(Oct 5th 2005) Leaded by Mr. Hou Zifeng, the council chairman on duty of TDIA, and Mr. Yang Hua, the secretary-general of TDIA, TDIA delegation, including representatives from national development and innovation committee and information industry, arrived Nice, France. The delegation met Mr. Karl, the chairman of 3GPP, and Mr. Adrian, the CTO of ETSI. During the meeting, the delegation introduced the latest news of TD-SCDMA industrialization and the arrangement of next stage, and also answered the question about TD-SCDMA commercialization raised by ETSI. The both parties talked about the possibility and methods of cooperation on 3G technology, LTE project and marketing promotion, etc., and exchanged the opinions on the current situation of global and European 3G market.
In the afternoon, Mr. Yang Hua, the secretary-general of TDIA, attend 3GPP PCG#14 preparation meeting on behalf of CCSA. During the meeting, Mr. Yang Hua communicated with representatives from other international communication associations, expressed the suggestion of Chinese delegation and got the understanding and support of 3GPP chairman and secretary-genral.
The delegation attended 3GPP PCG#14 conference on Oct. 6th. At 3GPP/PCG#15 conference on Oct. 17th, TDIA was officially accepted by 3GPP as a Market Representation Partner (MRP). Mr. Yang Hua, the secretary-general of TDIA, delivered the speech on , to introduce the developing history and current situation of industrialization of TDIA. The conference chairman expressed appreciation to Mr. Yang Hua's speech and the expectation and confidence of two parties' cooperation next step.
After the assignment ceremony, 3GPP members hold a simple celebration ceremony to congratulate TDIA joining 3GPP family.
In the past five years, TD-SCDMA technology, as one of the third Generation mobile technology standards supported by China central government, has experienced extremely fast development in the field of technology R&D and commercialization. These days, TD-SCDMA industry has attracted more and more attention from all sides worldwide and continuously contributes to the mobile telecommunications industry development of China and even the whole world.
TDIA began the cooperation with 3GPP since 2003 and began to work on terminal conformance testing and the creation of TTCN code. With the common work of experts from 3GPP, the strong support of special found and the TDIA members, we have got remarkable achievements. Till the end of 2004, we had basically completed the creation of standard documents and the encoding of 197 test examples accumulatively, which exceeded the objective of 120 examples. At the same time of creation TTCN code, we communicated a lot with Taier lab, Willk lab, Mor lab and SGS lab, so as to prove the TTCN code and terminal conformance testing in the future.
After TDIA joining 3GPP, the cooperation between the 2 parties on technology and market will be strengthened. The cooperation between these two parties will promote the maturity of TD-SCDMA technology and its effect at international telecommunications industry.
