TD Tech Ltd. is the wholly foreign owned enterprise(WFOE) of Siemens Communications Group and Huawei Technologies Ltd.. It is formally established on March 18, 2005 in Beijing. The WFOE is developing, manufacturing and marketing TD-SCDMA technology, however initially, the focus of the sales is in China. Both parent companies have together injected more than USD 100 million, with Siemens holding 51 percent and Huawei 49 percent.
 
Siemens Communications Group is one of the top three international telecom equipment venders with footprints in over 160 countries, and it takes leading position in GSM and 3G worldwide markets. Siemens started its development in TD-SCDMA back in 1998 and has to date invested more than EUR 170 million in this technology. Huawei Technologies Ltd. is one of the most successful local telecom equipment venders in China with footprints in over 40 countries. It is also the major Chinese supplier for GSM/WCDMA/CDMA2000. Both companies bring to the joint venture decades of experience in telecommunication technology, and their combined strength and know-how will give TD-SCDMA a powerful push for market success in China.
 
TD Tech has currently more than 400 employees, with the senior management and main forces coming from both mother companies. TD Tech has set up a complete organization including R&D, manufacturing, marketing, pre-sales, sales and after-sales service, training, as well as the supporting functions
 
Based on the strong R&D background of the parent companies, TD Tech¡¯s R&D has been making a rapid and stable progress. The commercial products which include NodeB, RNC, and O&M systems based on LCR 1.0 are launched for commercial use in 2005.
